Our new patented CBR (Continuous Batch Rotary Furnace), #5,749,722, is a significantly improved single charge continuous rotary retort furnace for carburizing, carbonitriding, and hardening.

The CBR's revolutionary micro feeder system automatically fills the retort with parts to be treated, reducing manual labor, increasing safety and productivity.

The innovative external discharge chute provides an internal protective atmosphere seal, improving the quality of the quench. All operations are automatically controlled through a computerized control system.

Key advantages of the new CBR are:

• A microfeeder system with an automatic feeder locking collar that provides for immediate access to the inside of the retort assembly. This reduces downtime and costly repairs and increases productivity.

• A retort assembly with an improved pattern design with rows of tumbling ribs made of high tensile strength metal which allows for the proper processing of the parts within the rotary retort. This eliminates the use of spacing discs, reduces the need for costly replacement parts, reduces downtime, maintenance and labor costs and increases productivity.

• A new and improved external discharge chute with an internal protective atmosphere seal which improves the quality of the quench.

• A controlled gaseous atmosphere for the proper heat treatment of parts before quenching which eliminates the need for many downstream procedures. This substantially reduces the cost of producing a heat treated product.

• Automatic operation by the use of an electrically controlled computerized console. The parts being heat treated can be loaded to a given number automatically and discharged automatically without manual intervention.

• Sight-glass viewing ports to view the machine parts being heat treated in the retort chamber.
